Welcome

Welcome to LaborFest 2026
Labor's Future, AI. The Gilded Age & Techno Fascism

The 1934 San Francisco general strike was a critical strike for the working class of not only San Francisco but the West Coast which was having a West Coast Maritime Strike. It took place when general strikes were also taking place in Minneapolis and Toledo. These strikes and mass mobilizations and occupations were critical to mobilize and organize millions of workers.

Today, workers are under attack with the techno fascists in control of the US government and using the power of the state and AI to implement Project 2025 along with moves to implement martial law to stop the election and any transfer of power. The lessons of the struggle of workers in the 1930’s is relevant today.

LaborFest commemorates the entire month of July in Northern California with films, walks and presentations on working class history and struggles to defend workers against AI and robotics and the fight against systemic racism and the expanding US wars abroad. As striking SAG-AFTRA and members of the Writers Guild said during their strike, their struggle was existential to their existance.

The introduction of AI in all industries including in trucking where inward facing AI inferred cameras are torturing Teamsters and other truck workers with tumors and cataracts while collecting data to replace all UPS Teamster and US truck drivers is a threat to millions of workers.

These and other issues will be also be an important part of LaborFest 2026 and many events will be hybrid for people in the US and around the world.
