The threat to workers who get injured or sick on the job is growing. The elimination of any oversight of health and safety on the job and the lack of OSHA inspectors and oversight of dangerous working conditions is epidemic. The introduction of AI is adding to this deadly mix and the series of explosions and deaths is escalating. At the same time the workers comp system has meant that workers have to become lawyers to get their injuries taken care of and many are permanently disabled because of the failure to get prompt treatment at all. This panel will look at the issues, struggles for justice and what workers and unions can do about this.
