ADJUNCT (82 min) (2024)
Director: Ron Najor

Two showings over Zoom: Sunday, July 26 at 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm
Gig work in which workers are underpaid with little to no job security is becoming more prevalent.
“Adjunct” is a feature length movie depicting the all-too-common indignities and exploitation faced by a gig worker in higher education who also drives for Uber.
Today, most faculty in higher education are essentially gig workers. These conditions are favored by management, and, too often, in contract negotiations, are accepted by faculty union leaders.
Many of these well-educated underpaid gig workers are enrolled in public assistance programs or even homeless as is the main character in the film.
After the showing of the film, there will be a few short presentations followed by an audience discussion to share reactions to the film and its subject matter.
