With Mark Kruger

Labor historian Mark Kruger in his upcoming new book Socialism in the America West 1830-1954 provides a Kaleidoscopic narrative history of the socialist experience in the American west during the 19th and 20th century including utopia colonies, the socialist and communist parties, anarchists and the fight to transform the world.
During the early industrial revolution in the United States, the American West was invaded by financial and corporate capitalist, and the development of technologies that intensified the exploitation of workers for great wealth. From the capitalist development of the West to the mass labor struggles in the 1930’s the rise of class consciousness and organization continued despite repression and witchhunts. Today with the rise of techno fascism this history is vital.
He is also the author of St. Louis Commune of 1877: Communism in the Heartland
