The ILWU was formed out of that strike\, and today\, it is one of the most powerful and democratic unions in the United States.\nA key leader of the strike was Harry Bridges\, an Australian American who was part of a group called the Albion Group that began the organization to take over the corrupt ILA local.\nThis film is the best film made about who Harry Bridges was. It will be followed by presentations and discussion on the lessons for today.
