The strike of 11,000 writers according to the members is existential. The development and use of artificial intelligence could destroy the industry and force them to become gig worker without living wages, healthcare and retirement.
This is also a threat to millions of other workers in transportation, healthcare, education and the building trades. This panel will look at the Writers Guild Of America West strike and what it portends for the rest of the working class.
