Whistle Blowers and Workers Rights

July 18, 2018 @ 7:00 pm

: Free

Whistleblowers on the job are under attack. This forum will hear from whistleblowers about their struggle to defend health and safety and the public. Their actions are taking place in a period of growing financial corruption in our society. One of the whistleblowers, Darrell Whitman, who is a member of AFGE and worked as an investigator at the OSHA whistleblower protection program, tried to investigate retaliation against whistleblowers from Wells Fargo, Lockheed Martin, FedEx and Test America. He himself was harassed, bullied, and illegally fired. When workers at regulatory agencies stand up for worker rights and they are removed we have a real crisis. The growing systemic corruption that working people and the public face is being challenged despite the dangers and at this forum we will learn from those who have been speaking truth to power.

Initial speakers: Darrell Whitman, Former OSHA Whistleblower Protection Program Cheryl Thornton, SEIU 1021 CCSF Worker at Potrero Hill Health Center Matthew Zugsberger, UBC 34 Whistleblower at NPS Drakes Bay Estuary Project Yesenia Guitron, Whistleblower at Wells Fargo Bank Johnny Burris, Whistleblower at J.P. Morgan Bank
